Avijeet Kumar is a social thinker, philanthropy advisor and an impact innovator, he has been instrumental in redefining the Indian philanthropy sector through his extensive experience for over two decades. He has been bestowed with an eminent title of a Scholar from the prestigious Delhi School of Economics, he is a University Topper, and awarded with esteemed national level research l fellowships by the university and the government of India. A sociologist by training he was determined to implement his disciplinary insights to the emerging challenges faced by the then post-liberalized India. Avijeet belonged to those vibrant civil society voices that emerged during the nineties and comprised an initial league of young civil society leaders in India. While at Help Age India, as Director Programmes, Help Age India, he was instrumental in devising and implementing essential national level age care social development programmes, including those on elder’s rights and entitlements. He spearheaded the Poorest Areas Civil Society (PACS) a collaborative initiative, involving policy-makers, the community for awareness on the elderly rights.
